Commissions, wholesale and export

Anything in the catalogue can be cast to a different size, a different finish, or with different detailing. Pieces that are not in the catalogue can be cast from a reference. Both are arranged by conversation rather than through the checkout, because both need a workshop to quote before a price exists.

What a commission involves

Tell us what you want. The figure, the height, the metal and the finish. Reference photographs help more than description — send them even if they are of somebody else's statue.

We quote from the workshop. A price and a lead time, from the workshop that would cast it. Larger and more detailed pieces are months rather than weeks: a thousand-armed figure is not a scaled-up seated one.

We agree the specification in writing before any wax is modelled. This is the step that protects both sides. A commissioned piece cannot be returned because it is not what you pictured, so what you pictured has to be written down.

You see it before it ships. Photographs of the finished casting, and changes to the finish are possible at that stage. Changes to the casting itself are not — the mould was broken to release it.

Wholesale and trade

We supply shops, galleries and interior projects. Trade terms depend on volume and on whether pieces are drawn from stock or cast to order; the second is cheaper per piece at quantity and much slower.

For a project with a delivery date, talk to us early. The constraint is never the metal. It is that a good face takes one person several days and there are only so many people who can do it.

Export

We arrange export by hand — freight, packing and paperwork — for both commissions and catalogue pieces. It is not offered through the checkout because the site only quotes the domestic couriers we actually operate.

Write to us with the figure, the size and roughly when you need it. If you are not sure of the figure, say what the piece is for and we will suggest some.
